As a matter of fact last month one of the credit card companies sent me an email that said it had been two years since I had used their card, adding that if I didn't use it again within 30 days it would be cancelled. So, I walked down to my local hardware store and bought a pack of flower seeds for $1.99, and when the bill came a couple weeks ago I paid it off immediately.

Since 2019 the federal minimum wage has gone up from $7.25 per hour to $10.25 hour, which is a 69 percent increase. If you look at the prices at fast food restaurants their prices have increased across the menu board by virtually the exact same percentage. The mega corporations which own these fast food restaurants are greedy and they refuse to allow a long overdue increase in what it pays it slave labor force to cut into their profits. Keep in mind that workers at fast food restaurants have no benefits or even guaranteed amounts of hours each week thanks to right to work legislation passed years ago that green-lighted sending workers home if business is slow.

For instance a retailer like Walmart is selling made in china men's jackets for $30.00 that it paid .75 cents for, and that is an average profit margin that it is making on everything it sells thanks to its virtually 100 percent made in china merchandise. Keep in mind that prior to 2000 a U.S. retailer was happy if it doubled its money for what it paid for a made in USA item, so the fact that all of these U.S. retailers are now going out of business is more than anything a total glut of the U.S. retail market of cheap, hugely marked up made in china goods. In other words only so many U.S. retailers can be selling the same massively marked up made in china merchandise before they all put each other out of business. For instance, struggling RiteAid is selling throughout each of its stores (mixed in with actual drug store items) the same schlocky made in china bird houses, flower pots, windchimes, stuffed animals, fake flowers, candles, bath soaps and jewelry that can be found at a hundreds of other U.S. retailer chains such as Walmart, Big Lots, Ross, TJMaxx, Marshalls, Costco, Dollar general, Dollar Tree, Family Dollar and others.

As the Panama Paper benefactors with shell corporations and other hidden assets, probably half of income tax worldwide goes unreported, squeezing the other 99%. Food/inflation is only part of that outcome, but just look around. You see it in every flavor, everywhere.

A lot of the fast food places around me are busy. I work at a fine dine restaurant, and we are slammed almost every day. We seat 650 people and on weekends we have 2 to 3 hour waits. Not saying what this guy is saying isn't true. I'm just saying what's happening here in 6 Bay area.
